Happy New Year! We entered 2010 with a full blue moon that gave way to clouds with light rain. Mid morning (as the showers subsided) we broke our Lake Seminole camp. As Jim was closing the trailer ramp door he discovered a little green tree frog with those sucker feet in a crack of the door trying to become a stow-away. I wanted a pic; but, it was too fast a get-a-way.
Arrived about 2:30 p.m. central time at the Emerald Beach Wyndham condo overlooking white sandy beachs better known as the "miracle strip". The Emerald Beach name derived from the emerald green color of the gulf water on a clear sunny day. We are on the 6th floor of a 25 floor building with seagulls flying at eye level. There is an enclosed sky bridge across Front Beach Road going over to check-in/offices/parking garage and gravel lot for those larger vehicles who can't fit into the garage. A very upscale swanky hotel with bell men, friendly, helpful staff. I'm excited as this is my first visit to the Gulf of Mexico.
Sunday, January 3rd....Continues to be cold. Temps in low 40's climbing ever so slowly. Today was meet the sales rep better known as "taking the sheep to slaughter". We were very well informed of all the changes between RCI and Wyndham as well as learned more about the points system and how down the road we might utilize them to our advantage. Best part was our FREE bonus dollars at the end. Then it was a quick trip to Walmart to change that bonus $ card for a Walmart gas card. Took a ride to St. Andrews St. Pk. near Port St. Joe checking out their campground for a future date. Back at the condo another wonderful sunset.
