Our visit to the Wren House had unique shaving bowls with cut out to fit the neck. Porcelin was the norm for the household while tin with a ring for a neck strap was used when traveling via horseback.
Gardens abound with seasonal crops. Fish, venison, pork, mutton, and beef were favorite meats along with potatoes, and green beans. Other veggies growing in their gardens while visiting were cabbage, a type of celery, collards, kale, leeks, and herb gardens for seasoning.
