Salt Springs, FL - More

January 14 - Finally some warm temps.  69 degrees today.  Yesterday a trip to SAM'S for groceries and Best Buy in Ocala for me to scratch my itch for a keyboard fun machine.  Then we walked and biked with J trying to teach this old dog how to use the gears.  I got a pic of a busy Red-Bellied Woodpecker.

This afternoon was very warm with us paddling the run.  It took me a bit to get into the canoe after the Silver River spill.  I was nervy to stand so on my knees I made my way to the bow standing in a crouched manor to step over my seat to glue my butt to the bare seat.  Yep...this time no cushion ... pure seat.  Trying to keep a lower profile.  The run did not have much to offer...a few birds...Anhinga's with wings spread to dry...a Great Egret waiting at the boat ramp for a handout...and a Purple Gallinule.  No manatees visible, no otters, no gators.  The park ranger told J this morning that an air boat was on the run last night illegally looking for gators to run up onto the bank to shoot with bow and arrows.  Backwards camera caught J paddling.
